About The Position

The Lead Patient Care Technician Oncology is an integral member of the nursing team, delivering compassionate hands-on care to oncology patients and supporting their comfort, mobility, and daily needs. The role assists with advanced procedures, monitors telemetry as needed, and communicates patient updates to the nursing team to support coordinated, timely care. The Lead Patient Care Technician also helps maintain a safe and clean environment and guides, trains, and mentors patient care technician staff.

Requirements

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
At least 1 year of experience.
No travel required.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, and comfort.
Check vital signs, collect specimens, prepare patients for procedures, and monitor telemetry as needed.
Document patient care accurately and communicate important updates to the nursing team.
Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring supplies are ready.
Round regularly and communicate compassionately to promote patient comfort and trust.
Train and mentor team members and share updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care.
