About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role must be able to function as a resource for employees, internal departments, and outside customers. The individual will be familiar with all areas of the department and can fill in, answer questions, and assist in resolving issues within the department. The Lead Patient Access Representative must be able to work independently without much supervision and accept accountability for individual tasks. They will excel in customer service skills, assist with new employee orientation, and serve as a mentor. This role may provide oversight of work tasks and adjust staffing to ensure appropriate coverage due to absences or lack of float coverage. They will also assist with on-going department education and training, and may develop training curriculum and materials to ensure that departmental training needs are met. The Lead Patient Access Representative may facilitate change and ensure adoption of new processes, and demonstrates analytical decision-making, information gathering, presentation, project management, group facilitation and training skills. They may also assist in managing productivity and department reports.

Requirements

  • Two years of One Chart or similar electronic medical records (EMR) experience required.
  • Previous healthcare experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Five years of customer service experience preferred.
