About The Position

Stagg & Associates is seeking an experienced and highly organized Lead Paralegal to oversee and support the firm's legal operations. The ideal candidate will have strong case management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead and mentor support staff while assisting attorneys with complex legal matters. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient handling of cases and maintaining excellent client service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and case management practices.
  • Strong legal drafting, research, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience managing litigation matters from intake through resolution.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience training and supervising legal support staff.
  • Familiarity with Texas state and federal court filing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day workflow of paralegal and administrative support staff.
  • Assist attorneys with all phases of case preparation, litigation, and case management.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
  • Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and court filings.
  • Conduct legal research and gather supporting documentation for cases.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors.
  • Monitor case progress and ensure compliance with court deadlines and firm procedures.
  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Assist with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, depositions, and settlement conferences.
  • Coordinate document production, discovery responses, and records management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve office procedures and case management efficiency.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
