About The Position

The Lead Packaging Tech is a hands-on leadership role in a dynamic plant environment. The role leads and coaches the packaging team, oversees packaging and labeling quality, supports efficient production, and helps maintain a safe workplace. The lead also provides initial support for machinery issues, trains new team members, completes paperwork and quality checks, and reports issues to the Shift Manager.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Basic troubleshooting abilities.
• An analytical mindset.
• Willingness to learn new software.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods, walk up to two miles a day, and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work in conditions involving noise, heat, and cold, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience driving a forklift.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor the team, fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Delegate responsibilities, manage daily schedules and breaks, and help the team meet or exceed production targets.
• Oversee packaging and labeling to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Lead by example in maintaining a clean and safe workplace and ensure team members follow safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
• Provide first-line support for machinery issues.
• Train new team members on products and processes.
• Complete necessary paperwork and conduct quality checks.
• Report issues to the Shift Manager.
