Lead Package Handler - Queens 2 (Sun-Thurs)
About The Position
OnTrac is hiring a Lead Package Handler at its Carlstadt, New Jersey location. The role supports safe, accurate package handling and sorting operations while guiding Package Handlers and coordinating with third-party drivers. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM; hours may change based on business needs. Pay is $24.15 per hour. OnTrac, founded in 1986, provides same-day and next-day delivery services in the United States for e-commerce and product-supply businesses. Requirements
- At least 1 year of industry experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Regularly lift, push, and pull 25–35 pounds; occasionally carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds using a pallet jack or gaylords to transport large packages.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe work environment by enforcing company safety protocols, including dock, conveyor, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Train and guide Package Handlers through hands-on demonstrations and ongoing performance feedback.
- Oversee package handling, sorting, and inspection to ensure accuracy, prevent damage, and avoid misroutes.
- Monitor equipment functionality and submit maintenance requests.
- Manage damaged freight according to company procedures.
- Check in and check out third-party drivers, verify credentials, and ensure proper documentation and manifest accuracy.
