Lead Outdoor Educator - Neptune Township Area
About The Position
Are marine science and conservation important to you? Do you want to mentor and educate the next generation to inspire positive change? We are a team of passionate scientists dedicated to fostering a love for marine conservation in future generations. Our organization is seeking enthusiastic individuals who share this vision to create a brighter future for our planet’s oceans. Join our team for an unforgettable and exciting outdoor teaching experience! Programs run from mid-June through early September. Required participation for the entire duration of the program, typically Monday-Friday, 9:00 am–2:00 pm. Applicants must be available until mid to late August. Requirements
- Passionate about conservation and our oceans
- A degree in marine sciences, biology, education, or a closely related field is required.
- First Aid and CPR certification is required upon hire.
- Ability to lead and conduct program activities in an outdoor setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in scientific fieldwork or teaching is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and lead engaging lessons, activities, and discussions focused on marine science and conservation.
- Directly manage our Support Staff and Interns as they work together to implement scheduled activities
- Communicate directly with parents and guardians and relay all relevant information back to administration.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for program participants.
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and organization of program materials and supplies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality educational experiences.
- Adapt to varying outdoor settings and independently lead small groups when necessary.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants throughout the program.
