About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Lead Oracle Database Administrator. This is a Full-Time, Contract position with a duration of 12+ months, located in Maryland Heights, MO 63043 (Onsite). As a Lead Oracle Database Administrator, you will oversee the day-to-day administration, health, and proactive monitoring of critical Oracle production databases to ensure maximum uptime. You will also guide, mentor, and foster the professional growth of junior team members, establishing best practices for database administration. You will partner with application teams to orchestrate database deployments, author comprehensive Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and manage change tickets. You will quickly integrate into the team to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities and safeguard critical application infrastructure. Analyzing daily health check reports to identify and remediate potential anomalies before they impact production environments is a key responsibility. You will participate in the team’s on-call rotation and join production bridge lines to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in real time. Attending morning and evening handover meetings is crucial to ensure seamless 24/7 operational continuity and knowledge sharing. Collaborating with application developers and stakeholders to plan database patching cycles, execute changes, and manage risk is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience.
  • Experience as a Lead or Manager, with team leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with database cloud migrations (AWS, GCP, or similar).
  • Strong background in data migration, capacity planning, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year technology roadmaps.
  • Ability to serve as a technical advisor, evaluating tools, services, and vendor solutions.
  • Experience leading projects and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proactive decision-maker with strong troubleshooting and change management experience.
  • Must be able to be engaged on a W-2 basis.
