About The Position
We are currently seeking a Lead Optometric Assistant to monitor and manage optometric assistant performance and proficiency levels. This position will report to the Assistant Operations Manager. This position will be at-will, meaning either the employer or the employee may terminate the employment at any time, with or without cause or prior notice. Pay range: $18.00-$20.00/hr
Requirements
- Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in EHR systems
- Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a vision practice is a plus
- Preferred knowledge of optometric online software/database, Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet software
- Bilingual a plus
Responsibilities
- Maintain, clean, and audit frame board on a weekly basis
- Order and track materials/supplies needed for back office
- Ensure patients are teched and scribed in a timely manner and assists the team when falling behind
- Educate patients on proper frame selection and lens options
- Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc.
- Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children
