About The Position

The Production Lead is responsible to assist and / or represent the Supervisor by coordinating activities of production workers. This role involves inspecting products to verify conformance to specifications and directing setup & adjustments of machines. The Lead Operator interprets company policies, specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. They are responsible for enforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring workers' participation to ensure training is being utilized and identifying needs for additional training. The position involves establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules, recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, and suggesting changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency. The Lead Operator analyzes and resolves problems or assists workers in solving them, initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers, and maintains production records and distributes reports. They also perform activities of workers within the department and ensure all duties are performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Regular and predictable attendance is required, along with performing other job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Use of basic mathematic skills including fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment with basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the plastics industry including extrusion, thermoforming or blow molding a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other job duties and assignments as requested or as business needs require.
  • Assists / fill-in for Production Supervisor when needed.
