About The Position

The Lead Operator plays a key role in coordinating and supporting daily manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for training and guiding team members, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and operated, and upholding safety and quality standards. The Lead Operator also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and overall production efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Compliance with all PPE and safety requirements

Responsibilities

  • Train and assist team members with preventative maintenance tasks
  • Perform machine setup and operate equipment safely
  • Ensure accurate tracking and disposal of scrap materials
  • Complete rework as needed at the end of each shift
  • Lead, motivate, and support team members; step in as needed
  • Understand and operate all process stations on assigned equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues, clear faults, and restart machines efficiently
  • Report quality concerns to leadership promptly
  • Inspect and measure products to ensure they meet specifications
  • Accurately complete production paperwork and data entry
  • Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness standards (5S)
  • Track attendance, production output, and performance metrics
  • Support overall equipment effectiveness and production goals
  • Identify and help resolve workflow or production issues
  • Participate in safety and environmental improvement initiatives
  • Train and cross-train team members
  • Maintain records of employee progress and performance
  • Take responsibility for team members in emergency situations
