About The Position

The Lead Operator - Packaging is responsible for performing all functions of Operator levels, coordinating technical services, managing specification changes and qualifications, and ensuring efficient shift hand-offs and communication. This role involves processing transactions in the MRP system, representing Operators in Quality and Engineering projects, and ensuring efficient scheduling to meet production requirements. The Lead Operator also provides training and mentorship to other Operators, promotes 5S standards, and serves as a resource, modeling company values and supporting strategic initiatives. A key aspect of this position is ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, good business practices, and company procedures, including environmental and occupational health regulations. The role also requires active engagement in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word) and computer experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior critical thinking skills; able to investigate and analyze data to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality systems as related to medical device manufacturing.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions of all Operator levels.
  • Coordinate tech services, forms specifications changes and qualifications.
  • Ensure efficient shift hand-off and communication.
  • Process required transactions in MRP system.
  • Serve as Operator representative for special Quality and Engineering projects.
  • Ensure efficient scheduling to meet production requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Operators in area.
  • Promote and support 5S standards; participate in further standards development and implementation.
  • Serve as a resource to Operators in area; model company values and support strategic initiatives.
  • Assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).
  • Engage others, promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
