About The Position

The Lead Computer Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of real-time transaction-driven Computer Gaming System (CGS). A Lead Operator performs the operational duties and responsibilities of the site operations staff. The Lead Operator may give direction to and work with the Operations staff to ensure command flows are processed and system functions monitored. This position serves as a liaison between the operators and the Operations management team. The Lead Operator will be called upon to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that arise in the computer operations arena, and may work with field service and in-house staff members.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • 4 to 6 years of experience
  • An ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong personal commitment to dependability - arriving for work on-time, as scheduled
  • Must have above-average organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess intermediate-level skills with computer software (Microsoft Office Products)
  • Ability to gather data to identify, troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues
  • Ability to work a non-standard shift schedule and fill-in for alternate shifts, as needed
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stretch at a minimum of 50% of the time for any or all of the movements described

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with LINUX OS, Microsoft Windows Server systems are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate all CGS computer systems in accordance with established schedules, checklists and other requirements
  • Write and maintain the Site Training Plan for new-hire Operators and ensure new-hires are capable of performing their tasks
  • Provide direction and feedback to computer operators on work performed by or assigned to them
  • Run all Game Draws and other management programs installed on the Production gaming system
  • Prioritize work tasks as assigned, with strong attention to detail
  • Work with Field Service staff, Retailer base, and Lottery to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Monitor systems for problems; log and report any problems to Operations Management
  • When applicable, prioritize nightly job processes to ensure performance against a time-critical schedule
  • When applicable, execute batch processing and system backups, and accounting controls for produced
  • Assist in testing new System Software Releases, Terminal Releases or other software change events
  • Required to fill in as needed for other operator employee vacation, sick times, etc., and on either Day or Night shift with the possibility of weekends
  • Execute other tasks and duties, as assigned
