Requirements

  • High school diploma or state equivalent
  • Minimum four years of experience in facilities and building maintenance OR minimum four years of experience in HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Thorough knowledge of building systems, thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as computer-controlled equipment
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel, plus experience using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to receive and complete work orders
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs, climb ladders up to 20 ft, work at heights, navigate rooftops, and perform physically demanding tasks including frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and overhead work
  • Ability to perform all work using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and in strict accordance with safety policies, procedures, and practices

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of college or related trade schooling
  • HVAC or CFC certification
  • Experience with Joint Commission or DNV standards in a healthcare facility
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving in complex building environments
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems to maintain compliance with applicable standards
  • Operate and optimize HVAC systems and equipment through regular cleaning, inspection, part replacement, and performance adjustments
  • Demonstrate and enforce safety rules, identify hazards and risks, and participate in incident investigations to maintain a safe workplace
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer service requests and assist the Facility Management team during emergency situations (fire alarms, chemical spills, hazardous conditions)
  • Monitor and evaluate outside contractor pricing and work quality while reviewing monthly service request summaries to identify and resolve recurring operational issues
  • Record equipment readings, make necessary adjustments, and ensure proper storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with departmental policies
  • Conduct equipment inspections requiring access to difficult spaces, rooftops, and elevated areas to ensure all building systems meet performance expectations
