About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) division is seeking a Field Services Lead Construction Manager to oversee the successful start and scale up of commissioning projects for large commercial & industrial accounts and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to standardize and optimize project execution methodology. These projects will be completed in conjunction with our District Operations Centers (DOC’s), with the site Construction Manager overseeing day-to-day planning, execution, monitoring, control, and job closure activities. This role requires consistent on‑site presence and 100% travel to active project sites within the United States to effectively oversee execution and stakeholder coordination.

  • Must be able be willing to work nights and/or weekends to align with onsite project activities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum 15 years progressive experience in construction management, site supervision or project coordination, including at least 7 years leading electrical, industrial or general construction projects OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant construction management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or project management role.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or electrical engineering from an accredited university
  • 7+ years electrical field services experience
  • 7+ years managing electrical construction or commissioning projects as a project manager or construction manager, preferably large complex projects
  • PMP or Commissioning Agent Certification
  • Proficiency in project management and construction industry software packages (Microsoft Project, ProCore, etc.)
  • OSHA 10 & 30 hour general industry or construction certification.

Responsibilities

  • Receive job handoffs and complete initial technical, scope of work, and scheduling requirement reviews
  • Utilize necessary project management tools, software, and other resources to maintain adherence to key milestones and deliverables on site.
  • Own coordination of project meetings (internal and external) and formal communication plans to key project stakeholders; serve as primary point of contact throughout duration of EESS activities on site.
  • Coordinate and navigate Eaton scheduling and work activities around other trades, driving execution efficiencies for Eaton and customer.
  • Provide financial oversight through cost control, warranty, change order management, and risk mitigation.
  • Work closely with commercial operations teams, including North American Sales (NAS) Project Management Organization (PMO), Sales Engineers, and EESS Technical Application Support (TAS) organization to reconcile client expectations with order commitments, change orders, and timelines.
  • Own the review and verification of construction schedules, scope, and budget of upcoming sites identifying required manpower, skillset, and potential issues flagging them for resolution.
  • Lead the standardization and execution of site prework establishing documentation controls, and ensuring everything is ready for the team’s arrival.
  • As the Subject Matter Expert (SME), establish day-to-day site activities for field execution team while remaining independent from hands-on testing.
  • Lead the onboarding and training process for new construction/project managers, both remotely and on-site, ensuring their successful integration into the team and ability to independently manage scope, schedule, financials, and stakeholder communication effectively.
  • Own the continuous coaching of CMs/PMs, providing guidance on project management methodologies, customer communication, and issue resolution with on-site support.
  • Serve as the SME to drive standardization and optimization of project execution methodology, including progress tracking, deficiency management, and reporting standards.
  • As the subject matter expert, you will lead the continuous improvement of the CM/PM onboarding program, ensuring comprehensive coverage of technical, procedural, and communication skills required to act as a single point of accountability on site.
  • As a key advocate, you will take ownership of establishing and improving collaboration between the DOC, PMO and SAO teams, particularly on customer-facing decisions, serving as a single point of contact for customers, GC, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless decision-making.
  • Oversee tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management to maintain accurate progress tracking, schedule alignment, and financial reporting, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Determine mechanisms required for successful job closeout (punch lists / issue resolution, internal warranty, transition to owner or other entity), ensuring deficiencies, warranty items, and issues are tracked to completion and closed in alignment and contract scope.
  • Implement and cascade requirements associated with any program level initiatives or changes from technical program managers within the Strategic Operations organization, ensuring consistent execution and field adoption.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members; demonstrate advanced project management, operational and commercial competencies while actively communicating risks and schedule impacts to leadership to help develop team effectiveness.
