About The Position

Crawford Consulting Services is seeking an Onsite Construction Inspector / Commissioning professional for a 4-month assignment in Flat Rock, NC. This role involves providing representative services related to various construction systems including Site, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Low Voltage Communications, Security, and Fire Protection. The inspector will be responsible for documenting TAB and commissioning efforts, monitoring third-party agency testing and inspection activities, preparing daily QA reports, performing site surveys, and collecting existing condition data. A significant portion of the role (80%) will be spent in the field, with 20% dedicated to daily reporting to the Owner's project management team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of onsite building commissioning systems and vertical construction experience.
  • Familiarity with tracking software database such as Procore, ProjNet, Suretrak, or Ebuilder.
  • Familiarity with computer software products such as Excel, Word, Adobe PDFs, Microsoft Projects, Primavera Scheduling Software, and AutoCAD.
  • Good written skills for daily inspection reports, and other correspondence between Owner and Contractors.
  • Good oral skills for leadership role and public speaking at meetings.
  • Good organizational skills for tracking construction management documents (including but not limited to: Project Photographs, Technical Submittals, Shop Drawings, Risk Register, Request for Information, etc.).
  • Must provide Owner Oversight via Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Must pass Crawford Consulting Services Justifacts background evaluation (criminal, civil) in addition to CLIENT background check to secure proper site clearance and photo ID.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check, which includes a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Document TAB and commissioning efforts.
  • Monitor testing and Inspection 3rd Party Agency activities such as soils, concrete, asphalt, mortar, masonry, etc.
  • Prepare daily QA reports.
  • Perform site surveys.
  • Collect existing condition data in the field.
  • Document QA inspections on the Owner's behalf.
  • Create open punch list items daily and summarize weekly.
  • Closeout activities like as-built reviews, O&M reviews, and warranty reviews.
  • Function as a liaison between Owner and contractors.
  • Perform tasks as quality inspector to maintain conformance with specifications.
