About The Position
A growing renewable energy contractor is seeking an experienced Lead O&M & Commissioning Technician to support commercial and utility-scale solar projects throughout the United States. This position is responsible for leading operations & maintenance activities, commissioning new systems, troubleshooting electrical and control components, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting warranty and special projects.
Requirements
- 4+ years of commercial solar O&M and commissioning experience
- Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent)
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E
- Experience with inverters, DAS/SCADA systems, SEL relays, and single-axis trackers
- Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills
- Ability to travel 100% nationwide for extended periods
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective service on commercial solar systems
- Lead pre- and post-energization commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot inverters, DAS/SCADA systems, MET stations, trackers, and related equipment
- Complete punch list walks and support project closeout
- Prepare detailed service and commissioning reports
- Train and mentor apprentice-level technicians
- Coordinate with project teams, utilities, and asset owners during system energization
- Support warranty, repower, and EPC projects as needed
