About the Site Lackawanna Energy Center is a nominal 1500 MW combined cycle power generation facility using GE’s 7HA gas turbine platform. The facility is located in the borough of Jessup, Pennsylvania (near Scranton, PA). Position Summary The O&M Technician provides the organization with a knowledgeable, multi-skilled, troubleshooting expert who operates and maintains a combined cycle power station. This position requires highly flexible individuals that work various shift schedules in a team environment. Invenergy will train extensively in the operations area to compliment your skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in power plant operations, mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance or instrument and controls.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Candidates must be willing and capable of becoming multi-skilled and be part of a self-directed work team in a team environment.
Each employee will perform both operations and maintenance.
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

GE Frame 7FA or 7HA experience desired but not required.
This is a safety sensitive position. Individuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin working for the company.

Responsibilities

Operate the facility during start-up, shutdown, normal and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Maintain and trouble-shoot mechanical, electrical and or control systems in a power generation facility.
Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance.
Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.
The O&M Technician will work various shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and must be able to work holidays.
