About The Position

As our Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our Imaging Department. This position offers the opportunity to mentor and support fellow Nuclear Medicine Technologists, partner closely with Imaging Leadership to drive departmental success, help improve workflows, patient care, and team development, and make a lasting impact on both patients and staff while continuing to grow your leadership skills. The Lead Nuclear Medicine Tech applies the practice of nuclear medicine imaging through safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (required)
  • Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
  • 2 years of experience practicing Nuclear Medicine (required)

  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)

Responsibilities

  • Manages the procurement, triage, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage, and safe handling of all radioactive materials.
  • Leads the daily section operations and acts as point of contact for hospital staff, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Manages staff scheduling, maintaining team oversight, and delivering trainings.
  • Monitors section’s nuclear equipment, coordinating repairs and making recommendations.
  • Researches, develops, and implements quality performance standards and imaging techniques.
