About The Position

Emory Healthcare is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Nephrology team. Our Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners are an integral part of the Emory Healthcare integrated academic health care system. This role provides oversight and leadership for greater than 10 APPs or at multiple locations or at discretion of department/service line. The Lead APP reports to the Chief APP of the service line and partners with them to recruit, interview, and hire new APPs. They collaborate with clinical and operational team members, ensure standardized on-boarding with regular evaluations for new hires, and initiate disciplinary or remediation actions as needed. This role also manages scheduling and ensures adequate patient coverage, oversees APP timekeeping, and performs mid-year and annual performance reviews and competency assessments. Additionally, the Lead APP maintains regulatory files, participates in leadership development programs, and provides clinical instruction, coaching, and mentoring. They engage in monthly team meetings and meetings with the Chief of the service line, and round on a regular basis at designated sites. Other duties as assigned. This role includes 0.2 - 0.4 FTE admin time depending on the department/section.

Requirements

  • Experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
  • Must be a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and leadership for greater than 10 APPs or at multiple locations or at discretion of department/service line
  • Partners with Chief APP of service line to recruit, interview and hire new APPs
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational team members of the department/service line
  • Ensure standardized on-boarding with regular evaluations for new hires
  • Initiate, with Chief, any disciplinary or remediation needed for any team members
  • Scheduling and ensuring coverage of shifts for team members, ensures adequate patient coverage
  • Oversight of APP timekeeping
  • Performs mid-year and annual performance reviews and competency assessments for APPs on team
  • Maintains regulatory files for team members
  • Participate in leadership development programs, required meetings and annual retreats
  • Provide formal and informal clinical instruction, coaching and mentoring for all team members
  • Engages in monthly team meetings as well as monthly meetings with Chief of service line
  • Rounding on regular basis at designated site
  • Other duties as assigned
