About The Position

RestoPros of Ann Arbor - Detroit is expanding and seeking professionals with advanced hazmat, CBRN, or environmental remediation experience to lead complex operations. As the Lead Mold and Water Restoration Technician, you will lead strict-containment mold remediation and advanced water mitigation jobs. This role is ideal for individuals looking to transition their military skills into a civilian career, with opportunities to contribute to developing training programs for veterans. The initial 90-day integration phase will focus on mastering company systems, estimating software, and demonstrating leadership on job sites. Military backgrounds are highly encouraged, particularly for roles like Navy & Coast Guard Damage Controlman (DC) or Marine Science Technician (MST), Army & USMC Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialists or Engineers, and Air Force Emergency Management / Civil Engineering.

Requirements

  • 3 years of Mold and Water Mitigation/Restoration experience required.
  • Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Master Water Restorer (MWR) and Mold Remediation Specialist (MRS).
  • Ability to frequently transport and position water and mold restoration equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 150 lbs. with team-lift assistance or through the use of mechanical aids (e.g., dollies, hand trucks) as required by site conditions.
  • Ability to perform technical restoration tasks in restricted-access environments, including crawl spaces, attics, and elevated surfaces, like working at ceiling height on a ladder.
  • Must be physically capable of ascending/descending ladders and working in areas with limited clearance while utilizing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to maintain physical activity and stamina throughout the duration of an emergency response shift (typically 8–12 hours), including the frequent use of hand tools, and the manual manipulation of structural materials and contents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex water mitigation and mold remediation services, including inspection, treatment, cleanup, and structural restoration.
  • Construct and manage strict containment zones to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters.
  • Create detailed estimates, utilize 3D scanning tools, and maintain flawless job documentation.
  • Work rotating on-call shifts and overtime.

Benefits

  • Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour.
  • Overtime & Holidays: Time-and-a-half for OT; Double-time for working company holidays.
