About The Position

This position supports school teachers, students, and school leaders with best teaching practices for the education of multilingual learners (MLLs) and with DESE compliance at the school level. The role involves facilitating LAT and PLTs, co-planning, modeling effective instruction for MLLs, supporting teacher planning for SEI strategies, and collaborating with district coordinators, directors, coaches, and principals. The individual will also answer compliance questions and support ACCESS planning and administration. Additional duties may be assigned by the school principal and/or MLE director.

Requirements

Experienced (3+ years) and DESE licensed teacher in relevant content who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.
A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment.
Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers.
Ability to work with diverse population.
Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, WIDA Standards, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful.

Responsibilities

Support school teachers, students, and school leaders with best teaching practices for education of multilingual learners (MLLs) and with the DESE compliance at school level.
Facilitate LAT and some PLTs.
Co-plan, model and support grade level teams (if needed) in modeling effective instruction to fulfill MLLs needs.
Support teacher planning/co-planning to implement SEI strategies.
Collaborate with District Coordinators and directors as well as other coaches and principals.
Answer and support compliance questions.
Collaborate and support ACCESS planning and administration.
Additional duties as determined by the school principal and/or MLE director.
