About The Position

Toledo Clinic's Dermatology Department is seeking a full-time Lead Medical Assistant for their Secor Rd location in Toledo. This role involves assisting physicians with patient treatment, preparing patients, performing clerical duties, and coordinating the work of other Medical Assistants. The hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

  • MA certification along with an MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA).
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Previous experience in a Lead or Supervisory position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Dermatology office.
  • 3 or more years of clinical medical assisting experience.
  • Previous Dermatology experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with patient care, including minor procedures/surgeries (e.g., removing sutures, staples, moles).
  • Escort patients to exam rooms.
  • Prepare exam rooms.
  • Prepare patients for physicians by taking histories, blood pressure, and vitals.
  • Sterilize and prepare instruments.
  • Call in prescription refills at the request of the physician.
  • Maintain Medical Assistant staff schedules for the office.
  • Coordinate the workflow of the Medical Assisting staff.
  • Facilitate training for new hire Medical Assistants.
  • Perform various clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient charts.
  • Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
  • Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
  • Administer injections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants, payable within 30 days of hire to employees with active and verified credentials.
  • For employees who have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified.
  • After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
