Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, temperature, and other vitals; and reporting patient history summary. This role involves attending monthly quality staff meetings, weekly SOP calls, and training Medical Assistants on standard operating procedures, workflows, and quality metrics. The Lead Medical Assistant will also manage medical supply and vaccine inventory, oversee MA responsibilities, assist healthcare providers, maintain electronic health records, collect specimens, administer medications and immunizations, conduct patient intake and exit interviews, use data to outreach to patients for preventive care and chronic condition follow-up, assist with patient referrals, and handle patient phone calls and requests. Additionally, they will be responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, checking patients in and out, assessing charges, and collecting fees.
