About The Position

GE Vernova is seeking highly motivated individuals to join the Aero Equipment ITR engineering team within GE Vernova Gas Power. This dynamic business focuses on Aeroderivative Gas Turbines and Power Plants, playing a crucial role in enabling renewable energy penetration through grid firming, decarbonization, and electrification. The Aero Equipment ITR Lead Mechanical Engineer will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive customer solutions for Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Generator Equipment projects, spanning from initial proposals to project execution. The team is committed to delivering solutions with a focus on safety, quality, speed, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience related to bills of materials, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and product design.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with a strong understanding of gas turbine packages, including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment.
  • Minimum of four (2) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects for the Application & Project Engineering team in executing wing-to-wing customer solutions for Equipment projects, from competitive proposal to execution.
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, sourcing, project management, and external customers.
  • Execute OTR project engineering by collaborating with teams in Houston and Hungary to develop technical solutions for project-specific requests and Customizations (CGERs).
  • Work with the Configuration team to create Bills of Material (BOM) from product Features and Options (VCC), review for accuracy, and provide approvals.
  • Collaborate with the Product Definition team to develop customer drawing packages for assigned projects, incorporating all customer-requested customizations.
  • Review initial build books and build plans for manufacturing with document control, and prepare ECO markups to update BOMs as needed.
  • Prepare and process technical specifications for suppliers of sub-assemblies and major components, and review/approve supplier drawings for compliance with project CTQs.
  • Provide product clarifications and answer customer questions, and work with installation and commissioning teams to resolve site issues.
  • Prepare customer meeting presentations with PM and project leads, and actively participate in customer kick-off meetings.
  • Lead and deliver design Toll Gate reviews with Chief Engineers on project NPI designs.
  • Review designs and risk mitigation needs with technical fulfillment leaders/chief engineers and communicate modifications to manufacturing and sourcing teams.
  • Prepare and present project technical design reviews to managers and technical leaders, identify IP and Position paper ideas, and record IDLs.
  • Work with the compliance team to execute T&RS compliance items and ensure full package compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • Identify and execute project savings and utilization of available parts (SMI) opportunities to meet business cost-saving goals.
  • Create new parts with the Part COE team as necessary to complete project BOMs.
  • Execute CGER technical requirements, including drawing redlines to standards, parts creation, and specifications.
  • Resolve project-related issues during the manufacturing and testing phases by working with shop and testing teams.
  • Provide technical support for Engineering Release, HOM, CKOM, PSE Handover, and Customer Meetings.
