The Lead Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic is a working lead who trains, directs, and supports maintenance staff. This role performs advanced mechanical and electrical repairs while making sure equipment runs safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience, preferably in wastewater, utilities, or industrial facilities
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Ability to obtain required certifications such as confined space, forklift, crane, rigging, and hot work
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, hydraulics, piping, and lubrication
  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read manuals, drawings, and schematics
  • Experience with hazardous materials and root cause analysis
  • Comfortable using CMMS and Microsoft Office tools
  • Clear and respectful communication and strong problem-solving ability
  • Organized, reliable, and safety-focused
  • Leads by example and supports team development

Nice To Haves

  • Lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Class B CDL preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assigns and oversees daily work for Maintenance Technicians
  • Trains staff on equipment repair, plant operations, SOPs, and safe work practices
  • Makes sure OSHA, DOT, and safety rules are followed
  • Performs advanced repairs on pumps, motors, electrical panels, and chemical feed systems
  • Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems
  • Creates and follows preventive maintenance schedules
  • Reviews completed work and coaches staff for improvement
  • Keeps accurate work order and maintenance records in the CMMS
  • Responds to emergency call-outs
  • Works nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed
