About The Position

The Lead Materials Management Tech supports patient care and operational reliability by coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and linen throughout the facility. The role leads daily inventory activities, provides guidance and training to materials management staff, and ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Other duties may be assigned. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or inventory control.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and materials handling equipment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and guide staff.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards, including OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory software.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or coursework in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of medical supplies and hospital logistics.
• Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) certification or similar.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and linen throughout the facility.
• Lead daily inventory activities.
• Provide guidance and training to materials management staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Prioritize daily work assignments within the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as a resource for staff.
• Support onboarding of new team members.
• May contribute to peer performance feedback.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
