Lead Marketing Engineer

RippleNew York, NY
$200,000 - $250,000Hybrid

About The Position

Ripple is hiring a Lead Full Stack Engineer, Marketing to join our growing team. You will assume a vital, strategic role in establishing the technical vision and framework for Ripple’s marketing technology platform. Through creating dynamic, high-performing, and globally scalable experiences, you will directly boost our go-to-market efforts and support our internal teams. This role is perfect for an AI-forward engineering leader who thrives where technology, growth marketing, and data converge. Operating at a Staff/Lead level, you will partner closely with Growth, Marketing Operations, and Data teams to invent scalable solutions. These solutions will allow fast experimentation, increase user acquisition, and gather actionable analytics. You will lead by example through hands-on coding, system development, and cross-functional leadership. You will advance our Next.js, Sanity, and Vercel stack into a fully dynamic, conversion-optimized platform supported by intelligent workflows.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional web development experience, with at least 2+ years in a Staff, Lead, or Principal engineering role focusing on marketing technology, growth engineering, or equivalent scale platforms.
  • Deep expertise in modern JavaScript and React, specifically Next.js (App Router, Server Components) and headless architectures.
  • Applied AI experience and an AI-forward approach, with hands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). Use frameworks like the Vercel AI SDK or LangChain to build internal tools or agents.
  • Proven track record of building experimentation frameworks (e.g., Optimizely, VWO) and personalization engines for high-traffic, results-focused websites.
  • Strong architectural understanding of the modern growth marketing stack, including Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), CRM integrations, server-side tagging, and event tracking schemas.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate high-level business goals into actionable technical roadmaps and scalable system builds.
  • Hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms, especially Sanity (schema building, GROQ queries, custom inputs), prioritizing flexible content modeling for marketing teams.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills, with experience influencing senior collaborators in Marketing and Operations without relying on direct authority.
  • Deep understanding of performance optimization, SSR/SSG, and edge deployment strategies (Vercel, Cloudflare) to improve technical SEO outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the comprehensive technical plan for Ripple’s marketing web platform, ensuring it scales to support aggressive global growth, localization, and high-traffic demands.
  • Pioneer AI integration and workflow automation, architecting and deploying LLM-powered tools and intelligent agents that drastically increase the marketing team's day-to-day efficiency and output.
  • Engineer experimentation and personalization infrastructure, empowering the Growth team to launch complex A/B tests, targeted campaigns, and dynamic content delivery seamlessly.
  • Compose and build robust data pipelines and integrations with the broader marketing technology stack (e.g., Segment, GA4, Marketo, Salesforce). This ensures highly accurate tracking, attribution, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception to delivery, acting as the primary technical bridge between Marketing, Product, and Data engineering teams.
  • Define, promote, and enforce engineering guidelines, CI/CD optimizations, and system architecture standards across internal teams and external development partners.
  • Build scalable CMS schemas and APIs in Sanity to support modular content creation that directly serves performance marketing and lead generation funnels.
  • Continuously optimize core web vitals, technical SEO, and edge-caching strategies, recognizing the direct impact of site speed on user acquisition and conversion rates.
  • Mentor and elevate other engineers on the team, encouraging a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and forward-thinking system design.
