About The Position

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing internal factory equipment, as well as supervising employees in maintenance and tool making. The position is responsible for departmental operations planning and execution, or focuses on the execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The role operates with some autonomy, guided by established policies and end-result reviews, allowing for modification of procedures and practices as long as quality, volume, and timeliness standards are met.

Requirements

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • At least 5 years experience in Engineering, Facilities Engineering or Industry
  • Professional Engineer License within 1-year of start date

  • HVAC expertise (chillers, DX units, direct expansion systems)

  • Construction drawings analysis and stamp authority
  • Building Automation Systems (Niagara systems experience preferred)
  • Electrical systems knowledge (high/low voltage understanding)

Responsibilities

  • Performing technical work specific to mechanical equipment review, etc.
  • Signing off on engineering design & certifications.
  • Working with external vendors, potentially including civil, electrical, or other engineering specialty skill sets.
  • Responsible for repairs, replacement, and design for facility Potable and Process Water Infrastructure.
  • Responsible for site-wide compressed air, instrument air, air-drying systems and site-wide compressed air distribution.
  • Responsible for site-wide sanitary, storm water, and process wastewater outfalls and infrastructure.
  • Designs HVAC and Building Automation systems (includes DX, Chilled Water, cooling towers, and associated pumps, air handlers, and associated infrastructure).
  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Maintains up-to-date industry standards, implementing facility improvements to meet business sustainability goals.
  • Supports Facility and Operational teams, providing guidance and insight to solve complex problems.
  • Utilizes outside contractors and consultants as required to maintain the site in a ready-to operate state and drive continuous improvements.
  • Mentors and leads both exempt and non-exempt team members to support the overall needs of the business.
  • Assists in development and management of Facility led Capital and Expense projects, delivering on time, and on budget.
