About The Position

This role accelerates business value by supporting the Operations Manager in all duties and take charge of department in absence of Operations Manager. Demonstrates our “True North” attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, no nonsense communication and utilization of facts, servant leadership and has a continuous improvement mindset in every facet of leadership and daily interaction. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
  • Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one’s short term memory
  • Ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment

  • Experience in processing type environment
  • Some supervisory skills
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Must be able to count and to complete paperwork in absence of Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repairs on all processing equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance program on all equipment in processing.
  • Assist Plant Engineer as necessary.
  • Help monitor product quantity and quality by reporting any problems to Operations Manager.
  • Keep area safe and report any potential safety hazards.
  • Assumes responsibility for the processing department in absence of Operations Manager.
  • Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.
