About The Position

This role accelerates business value by supporting the Operations Manager in all duties and take charge of department in absence of Operations Manager. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Ability to work in an unfatigued state
Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one’s short term memory
Ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment
Ability to cope with sudden changes in surrounding and/or emergency situations and/or alarms

Experience in processing type environment
Some supervisory skills
Mechanical aptitude required.
Must be able to count and to complete paperwork in absence of Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

Monitor all equipment on a daily basis.
Responsible for maintenance and repairs on all processing equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance program on all equipment in processing.
Assist Plant Engineer as necessary.
Help monitor product quantity and quality by reporting any problems to Operations Manager.
Keep area safe and report any potential safety hazards.
Assumes responsibility for the processing department in absence of Operations Manager.
Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.
