About The Position

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for training and overseeing the daily activities of the Maintenance Technician staff. This role involves allocating work, providing technical direction and assistance, and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements (DOT, OSHA). The position also involves training employees on plant operations, repair techniques, and safe work practices, as well as monitoring and coaching staff performance. Key technical duties include performing advanced repairs on various equipment such as turbine pumps, electrical motors and panels, centrifugal pumps, and chemical feed systems, along with sophisticated electrical troubleshooting. The role also requires preparing maintenance schedules, maintaining records of work orders, and performing other assigned duties. The position requires a willingness to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and to be on call for 24-hour emergencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 8 years of experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive mechanics, electrical circuits, wiring electronics & hydraulics, flange assembly, pump, packing & lubrication, relevant hand tools.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications, internet & CMMS Systems.
  • Ability to work with basic office equipment & phone systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Class B CDL preferred
  • SCBA, CSI, Crane and Forklift Operator, Rigging, Metal Cutting licenses (may vary according to specific site and assignments)
  • Ability to follow manual & operating instructions

Responsibilities

  • Allocates work and provides technical direction, assistance and training to other personnel.

  • Performs advanced repairs on: turbine pumps, electrical motors and panels, centrifugal pumps and chemical feed systems.
  • Performs sophisticated electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Prepares maintenance schedules for equipment, vehicles and facilities
  • Maintains files and records of work orders and task completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.
