About The Position

The Maintenance Technician Lead is a working lead responsible for the safe and reliable operation of all building systems, grounds, and physical infrastructure across a Texas data center campus. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position provides day-to-day technical leadership to the maintenance team, drives a culture of preventive maintenance excellence, and serves as the primary hands-on resource for complex troubleshooting, equipment operation, and facilities upkeep. The role requires a self-motivated, safety-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced critical environment. Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, or critical facilities environment; at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience operating telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, aerial boom lifts; current operator certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural building systems with the ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to navigate the internet, utilize electronic timecards, and operate CMMS platforms.
  • Be self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and proactive with an ability to work in a fast-paced critical environment.
  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor industrial settings including adverse weather conditions and at heights.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform the essential physical functions of the role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with leadership, colleagues, vendors, and contractors.
  • High energy and confident individual with demonstrated organization, prioritization, critical thinking, and proven active listening skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to formulate and implement both short- and long-term solutions.
  • A clear Criminal Record Check is required prior to start date.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots meeting ASTM F2413 standards; all other PPE supplied by employer.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the operations site daily or have confirmed relocation plans prior to starting work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining facilities, corporate housing, fleet vehicles, trailers, grounds maintenance equipment, and other company-owned assets is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance activities including facility inspections, grounds maintenance, landscaping, waste management, equipment servicing, building repairs, maintenance of company-owned corporate housing properties, and upkeep of company-owned vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment.
  • Safely operate and maintain heavy equipment including telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, tractors and associated attachments, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, trailers, and other site equipment used for facility maintenance, groundskeeping, material handling, and site logistics.
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, and refill equipment on a regular schedule to maintain operational readiness.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues, formulate solutions, and implement both immediate corrective and long-term preventive actions.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and make repairs as needed.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in the development and implementation of short- and long-term maintenance programs and standards.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, task assignment, and on-the-job mentoring to maintenance technicians.
  • Assist with facility repairs, special project execution, and capital improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work order documentation, and parts inventory in the CMMS.
  • Maintain all company facilities, corporate housing properties, fleet vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and professional operation. Coordinate inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, vendor services, and general upkeep to protect company assets and maintain operational readiness.
  • Monitor site conditions during adverse weather events and apply ice melt or other safety measures to pedestrian walkways, entrances, and critical access areas when required to maintain safe site operations.
