About The Position

Northland is looking for an experienced, pro-active Lead Maintenance Technician to supervise the maintenance team and oversee work orders and repairs at the Saddleworth Green community, a 480-unit property located near Paddock Park in Ocala, FL. This community offers residents exclusive access to onsite amenities, such as a 24-hour fitness center, a pet park, two resort-style swimming pools, and an outdoor kitchen. The Lead Maintenance Technician must be able to prioritize and schedule projects and staff for timely completion of projects. They are responsible for completing maintenance service requests and work orders including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping items. They will complete work orders and turn vacant apartments for move in, in a timely an efficient manner, while working safely, and keeping an eye on budget. They maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service to our residents, vendors, and guests. As part of our promise to deliver a top-tier experience to our residents, maintenance team members are required to handle after-hours emergency calls, and be on-call, as needed, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of the on-call responsibility.
  • Travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, or to attend training classes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing a team is strongly preferred.
