Lead Maintenance Technician

McKesson•Orlando, FL
•$23 - $39•Onsite

About The Position

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. We’re looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician to serve as the single point of technical leadership for our maintenance team at a high-volume pharmacy automation facility. This is a hybrid technician role — roughly half hands-on technical work and half administrative leadership — making it ideal for an experienced tech who’s ready to step into a leadership position without leaving the tools behind. As the only Lead Tech on the team, you’ll own the full picture: diagnosing and resolving quick-fix issues on the floor, training and developing technicians, tracking equipment downtime, assigning troubleshooting tasks, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations. You’ll also be responsible for creating and maintaining SOPs and STPs, managing parts inventory, and representing the maintenance team in weekly cross-site meetings with colleagues. If you thrive in a role where no two days look the same — one moment you’re elbow-deep in a PLC fault, the next you’re coaching a junior tech through a repair — this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

  • Computer proficiency: Windows OS troubleshooting, Ethernet networking, RS232/RS422 serial communications, and hardware-level diagnostics (cards, chips, I/O devices)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop technical staff
  • Strong organizational skills with experience tracking equipment downtime, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules
  • Discretionary, decisive, and organized thinking regarding best practices

  • Set up and analyze RS232/RS422 communications between computers and peripheral devices
  • Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational upkeep for all facility equipment, including pharmacy automation systems, office equipment, and computer systems
  • Support light construction, electrical projects, and facility infrastructure improvements
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors on facilities
