Team Lead - Maintenance
About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of equipment and systems at our Lenexa plant. As a key member of the Maintenance team, you will serve as the lead technical resource for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability initiatives. This role provides technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance technicians while helping drive a culture of safety, quality, food safety, and operational excellence within our flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and root cause analysis
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation
- Experience using CMMS software and maintaining accurate maintenance records
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required
Nice To Haves
- Technical training, certifications, or demonstrated maintenance leadership experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to quickly resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures and recurring issues
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to maintenance team members
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Partner with production, quality, and leadership teams to achieve uptime and performance goals
- Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, SQF, food safety, and maintenance standards
- Performs cleaning and inspection duties to maintain food safety compliance
- Responsible for maintaining accurate work orders, maintenance records, and equipment documentation
