About The Position

This is non-professional work providing maintenance of the property of the agency: Epworth grounds, Hayes House, and Whistling Oaks. The employee is responsible for work involving grounds upkeep, renovating and repairing buildings and their contents, the fleet, and maintenance equipment. The lead maintenance worker is supervised by the maintenance supervisor through observation and reports.

Requirements

  • Must hold current heating and cooling certificates.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed driver.
  • Must have experience with lawn care equipment.
  • Exhibit initiative by asking questions and independently handling assigned duties.
  • Must be able to lift 80 to 100 pounds and have a full range of motion.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, and automotive work is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Back up to the maintenance supervisor on heating and cooling repairs. (Certificates required)
  • Painting of buildings.
  • Clear walks, porches, and parking areas of snow and debris.
  • Care for lawns and shrubs on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the renovation and repair of buildings.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the fleet.
  • Repair and service household appliances.
  • Assist in moving furniture, mailings, and donated materials.
