About The Position

As the Lead Maintenance Tech for our Lewiston/Auburn portfolio, you will perform and oversee maintenance, repairs, unit turns, inspections, and larger repair projects. You will diagnose problems, determine the appropriate repair method, support technicians in the field, and inspect completed work to ensure it meets our quality and safety standards. You will also help maintain organized, complete work-order documentation, including labor, materials, receipts, and photos. This is a hands-on role for someone who values structure, accountability, consistent execution, and doing the job correctly from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors and locks, minor plumbing, minor electrical, appliances, and general building repairs.
  • Ability to diagnose maintenance problems and determine the correct repair method, materials, and labor required.
  • Strong attention to quality, detail, safety, and established standards.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records, including work-order notes, labor, materials, receipts, and before-and-after photos.
  • Ability to follow and reinforce company procedures, safety requirements, and lead-safe work practices.
  • Strong organization and disciplined follow-through across work orders, unit turns, preventive maintenance, inspections, and larger repair projects.
  • Clear, professional communication with residents, coworkers, vendors, property teams, and management.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and a reliable personal vehicle are required for travel between assigned properties and work locations.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone/work-order software.
  • Ability to pass any required background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading technicians, crews, or subcontractors strongly preferred.
  • Applicable trade licenses or certifications are beneficial but not required.

  • Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
