About The Position

As a Maintenance Lead Person, the ideal candidate must ensure that workers, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize productivity. The Lead Person must create work schedules, keep production and employee records, monitor employees, and ensure that work is done correctly and on time. In addition, this person must organize workers' activities, make necessary adjustments to ensure that work continues uninterrupted, train new workers, and ensure the existence of a safe working environment. This role involves the troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment, both automated and manual, as well as maintaining facilities equipment and systems such as HVAC equipment, electrical systems, general site plumbing, fire suppression & detection systems and various mechanical devices used throughout the facility. Daily responsibilities will include emergency and preventive maintenance on any machine or system in the facility and assisting production and manufacturing engineers with process and machinery improvements.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electrical or mechanical technology, plus 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance group, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction both commercial and industrial.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing both commercial and industrial.
  • Demonstrated electrical knowledge both commercial and industrial.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fire suppression and detection systems.
  • Proficient with the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical measuring instruments.
  • Previous leadership experience (i.e. lead person, crew leader, etc.).
  • Experience with PCs and Windows software.
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality System.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management.
  • Multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Database experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that workers, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize productivity.
  • Create work schedules, keep production and employee records, and monitor employees.
  • Ensure that work is done correctly and on time.
  • Organize workers' activities and make necessary adjustments to ensure that work continues uninterrupted.
  • Train new workers and ensure the existence of a safe working environment.
  • Work with a variety of contractors on site while maintaining the facility through the resources available.
  • Lead both repair & improvement projects.
  • Inform workers about company plans and policies.
  • Recommend good performers for wage increases, awards, or promotions and deal with poor performance by outlining expectations, counseling workers in proper methods, issuing warnings, or recommending disciplinary action.
  • Meet with supervisor regularly to report problems, discuss possible solutions, and departmental goals.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, both automated and manual (e.g., CNC Laser Cutting, Welding Equipment, Abrasive Blasting Equipment).
  • Maintain facilities equipment and systems such as HVAC equipment, electrical systems, general site plumbing, fire suppression & detection systems and various mechanical devices.
  • Perform emergency and preventive maintenance on any machine or system in the facility.
  • Assist production and manufacturing engineers with process and machinery improvements.
