About The Position

Piedmont Crossing, a premier continuing care retirement community in Thomasville, NC and a part of the EveryAge family of communities, is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Maintenance Technician II to join our Maintenance team. Piedmont Crossing is dedicated to providing residents with a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment, and this role is instrumental in supporting that mission through the maintenance and operation of our campus facilities and systems. POSITION SUMMARY The Lead Maintenance Technician II assists the Director of Plant Operations in administering and directing maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure across the community. This position helps oversee daily maintenance operations, construction and renovation activities, and utility distribution systems while coordinating with other departments to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted services for residents and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Formal education or technical training in a trade-related field such as HVAC, electrical installation and maintenance, or a related discipline required. Equivalent extensive hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or related setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a healthcare environment required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must meet EveryAge's motor vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, team members, contractors, and other departments.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Plant Operations in planning, coordinating, and directing facility maintenance activities.
  • Support the day-to-day supervision of maintenance staff and assigned projects.
  • Assist in overseeing construction, renovation, and repair activities throughout the campus.
  • Help maintain and monitor utility generation and distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruption and promote resident satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, facility standards, and organizational policies.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate service records.
