Position Summary : As a Lead Machinist, you will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, may make tool adjustments as necessary. Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances, including maintaining quality and safety standards. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints with GD&T
  • Assists in root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Prioritizes quality as top concern, actively checks process quality, and trains shareowners to quality standard
  • Takes responsibility for the daily activities/oversight of the shareowners in their designated area
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience
  • Requires High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Implements activities in production areas to meet performance, schedule, quality, cost, and budget objectives
  • Adjusts staffing and assignments to meet shift efficiency and performance metrics
  • Performs daily High-Performance Work Teams (HPWT) duties including Work Center Monitors (WCM) checks, attainment tracking, boards, and reports
  • Delegates responsibilities and ensures shareowners are working on correct priorities
  • Keeps team focused on quality while striving to achieve overall production goals
  • Leads process improvements initiatives to deliver year over year budget targets
  • Leads shift change meetings to ensure all shareowners are aligned
  • Operates machinery & performs setups when required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
