Under general supervision, the Lead Locksmith maintains lock and access systems, completes work requests, programs electronic locks, develops locking plans, coordinates lock shop activities, supports campus projects, provides work direction and training, maintains inventory, purchases supplies, and responds to emergencies. Designs, sets-up and maintains the lock shop, which is responsible for repair, maintenance, installation and issuance of hardware and cutting of keys. Makes procedural decisions and uses independent judgment to maintain security and safety through proper building or room access. Consults with independent contractors, administrators, project managers, and engineers on new construction and projects. Maintains the management of all locking plans within Integra Access and One Card systems. Responds to after-hours emergencies related to lock management. Performs other duties as assigned.
