About The Position

We are seeking a Lead Lift Station Mechanic for assignment in West Melbourne, Florida. The selected candidate will lead a team of 6 mechanics and direct them each day with their work assignments as per contract needs. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. This position requires a Back Flow Certification, an on-call schedule for emergencies, and a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Tanker and Air Brake Endorsements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) w/ Tanker and Air Brake Endorsements
• A valid Back Flow Certification
• 5+ years experience in mechanical repairs, operations and maintenance of wastewater and lift station pumping facilities
• Ability to interpret electrical, SCADA schematics and utility as-builts

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain pumps, motors, generators, electrical motors, gauges, contacts, valves and components for telemetry systems
• Perform sewer utility locates and inspections as requested
• Study work reports and evaluate equipment and system efficiency
• Interpret force main maps and control panel diagrams to assess operations and identify improvements
• Make recommendations for improvements to the supervisor
• Be available on call for after-hours repairs and respond to emergencies as required
