About The Position

HealthFitness is looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) Lead Lifeguard & Recreation Assistant to join our dynamic team at our client site in Marysville, Ohio (OH). Enjoy a supportive team environment while helping keep our pool safe and welcoming for everyone. Work a flexible schedule, within the following hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 5am-6pm Saturday: 10am-3pm.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
• All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500 yard swim. Active, Passive, Submerged rescues. Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water. Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.
• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for two bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Works with Aquatics Coordinator to ensure proper operation of the aquatic's facilities.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Assist Aquatics Coordinator with implementation of programming, training lifeguards, and scheduling.
• Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by cleaning and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
• Assist Recreation Coordinator with set-up/tear down of local events (Marysville, Raymond, and East Liberty) and scorekeeping.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.
