About The Position

The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for nursing staff coordination within the practice. The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse will participate in the care of patients in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. Will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients� health status. Responsible for coordinating the workload of the nursing staff. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.

Requirements

  • Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
  • One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
  • Person should display initiative

  • Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
  • Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act
  • AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire
