About The Position

Help provide exceptional surgical care in a fast-paced Pediatric Specialty clinic where teamwork and outstanding patient care come first. This hands-on LPN role partners closely with RNs and providers during in-clinic surgical procedures while also supporting efficient clinic operations by rooming and triaging patients, as well as coordinating supplies. If you're a proactive, adaptable professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, you'll be supported with ongoing training and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on every patient's experience.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) eligible to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and take initiative in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Excellent patient/customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or eligibility to practice in the State of Florida through the Florida Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification throughout employment.
  • Must successfully complete the required medication competency test within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Measuring and recording vital signs
  • Placing patients in exam rooms
  • Preparing patients for exams/procedures
  • Assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures
  • Providing patient support during exams
  • Maintaining medical supply inventory
  • Stocking exam rooms
  • Administering medications
  • Processing patient phone calls per practice protocols
  • Instructing patients regarding health care and treatments
  • Providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status
  • May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.
