About The Position

Working in our Augusta, GA Business Aviation MRO, this Lead Mechanic will serve on a team dedicated to Bombardier Challenger maintenance. This Team Lead will be responsible for covering the duties of the Crew Chief in their absence, as well as mentoring, scheduling, and developing a team of technicians and mechanics.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed A&P Mechanic
Minimum 2 years of experience performing heavy maintenance on Bombardier Challenger aircraft
Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience in an MRO environment
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Nice To Haves

10+ years of experience as an A&P Mechanic
Experience performing heavy maintenance on Challenger 300/350/600/604/605/650
Proven ability to interact with and resolve customer concerns
Experience in heavy and light maintenance, service bulletins, and troubleshooting
Strong team-building, coaching, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a crew to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
Monitor hours charged to jobs to assure cost control and approve technicians’ time on tasks.
Appraise crew members and recommend salary and status changes, recognizing achievements and administering discipline when necessary.
Pre-plan work scope and action plans for incoming jobs, including ordering parts as needed.
Deploy resources and assign tasks to crew members efficiently.
Uses hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and engine calibration test equipment.
Implement all paperwork related to job orders and conduct a final review of work order documentation before submitting for quality assurance.
Monitor progressive sign-offs to ensure all tasks are completed satisfactorily.
Serve as a technical expert on assigned fleet types, performing hands-on maintenance as necessary.
