About The Position

St. Joseph’s Center is seeking a Lead Laundry Worker to guide the laundry team and help ensure laundry operations run smoothly. The role supports the team and ensures items are cared for and returned on time, contributing to the comfort of residents. The Lead Laundry Worker assigns daily work, performs laundry tasks, transports laundry throughout the Center and related facilities, and maintains sanitary and safe work areas. The role also helps maintain equipment and supplies, trains new laundry workers, and keeps management informed about operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience or training in the proper maintenance of laundry equipment.
At least one year of laundry experience.

Nice To Haves

Laundry experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or institutional setting.

Responsibilities

Act as lead worker in the laundry room, assign daily work, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
Wash, sort, pre-treat, dry, and fold laundry, linens, and residents’ personal clothing with care and attention to detail.
Load, deliver, and collect laundry carts across the Main Center, apartment building, pool areas, and Day Programs.
Follow infection control and safety procedures to keep laundry areas clean, sanitary, and free of hazards.
Maintain laundry equipment, monitor chemical and linen supplies, and promptly report equipment problems and supply needs.
Show new laundry workers the correct procedures and keep management updated on operations.
