Lead Lab Technologist - Generalist - Nights
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital is seeking a full-time Lead Technologist, Nightshift to serve as a lead generalist for the laboratories. This position will perform testing and help oversee operations between the Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology, and Microbiology departments at night. The role involves leading the flow process, running Quality Control, instrument calibration, and performing patient testing, including automated and manual tests. The Lead Technologist will also assist in resolving patient testing issues and overseeing instrument troubleshooting. Additionally, they will monitor supplies to prevent disruptions in patient testing. This is a full-time, Night shift position, working 12:00 am - 8:00 am with rotating weekends and holidays. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience
- OR 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with a Master’s degree
- OR 1 year of experience with an MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
Nice To Haves
- Prior Microbiology and Chemistry or Hematology experience
- Prior experience in a hospital system

Responsibilities
- Lead the flow process of the Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology departments.
- Run Quality Control and calibration of instruments.
- Perform patient testing within the department, including automated and manual tests.
- Help resolve patient testing issues.
- Oversee instrument troubleshooting issues.
- Monitor and work with the Supervisor to ensure adequate supplies for patient testing.
