About The Position

The Lead Janitorial Cleaner coordinates daily operations at an assigned facility, delegates work assignments, guides team members, and provides supervision when the Manager is absent. The role demonstrates established cleaning and safety standards to help keep buildings and facilities clean and safe for workers and customers. It involves operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, and assisting with general janitorial duties as needed.

The Lead oversees and performs cleaning operations, monitors job quality and completion, supports scheduling and employee training, and communicates between field employees and management. The role also manages property keys and access cards, checks supplies and equipment, maintains time records, and reports damaged or nonfunctional items. Additional certifications or training may be needed depending on the site type.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• One year of customer service experience.
• One year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned work schedules and route cards, and report barriers.
• Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to team members.
• Maintain open communication between field employees and management, and monitor and document client communications.
• Assist with creating daily and weekly work schedules.
• Oversee and perform cleaning operations in the assigned building.
• Take care of keys and access cards for the property.
• Report damaged, broken, or nonfunctional features and items.
• Oversee and perform additional service requests (tag jobs) in the assigned building.
• Oversee job quality and confirm completion with the Area Manager.
• Train new hires assigned to the building in accordance with onboarding procedures.
• Complete and validate time records for regular or subcontractor employees.
• Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly.
• Obtain any additional certifications or training required by the site type.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
