About The Position

Perform janitorial services and oversight of facilities owned, or operated by The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence, as assigned by the Facilities Janitorial Supervisor. This role involves performing essential janitorial duties such as restroom cleaning, trash removal, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning. Additionally, the Lead Janitor will provide supervision and training to assigned staff members, monitor supply and equipment needs, and report them to their supervisor. The position requires maintaining cleaning standards according to the site scope of work, using various maintenance equipment, and adhering to safety protocols and agency policies.

Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty.
Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time.
Must provide your own transportation to work.
Must be willing to supervise staff as needed.
Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies.
Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light and heavy custodial equipment.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License and pass agency driving test.

Nice To Haves

At least 1-year supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in janitorial work preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial services including restroom cleaning, trash removal, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning.
Provide supervision and training to assigned staff members.
Monitor supply and equipment levels and report needs to the immediate supervisor.
Maintain cleaning standards following the site scope of work.
Use high and low speed maintenance equipment and carpet extractors as needed.
Practice "Safety First".
Adhere to all Agency Policies and Procedures.
Support the goals, objectives, and philosophy of the agency.
Comply with CQL, Justice Center, HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
