About The Position

Leads and coordinates all interior design work, including functioning as the lead interior design consultant to all departments, units, and other staff. Provides oversight to assign, guide, review, and approve the related work of all other interior designer staff within the department, and any outsourced design consultants, to ensure that appropriate design process, solutions, standards, and documentation are produced and applied.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Interior Design or equivalent years of education, training and experience
  • CRT-Contract Interior Designer, Certified - NCIDQ National Council for Interior Design Qualifications
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Contract interior design
  • Experience in health care environment

Responsibilities

  • Functions as the lead interior design consultant to all departments, units and other staff with regard to planning of renovations and additions.
  • Provides input into feasibility of initiating various construction and renovation projects.
  • Leads the development of conceptual designs and presents them to leadership.
  • Responsible for the development of standards, including furniture and finishes throughout the system.
  • Functions as a project team leader for selected projects, coordinating work with design staff, design consultants, calling meetings, setting deadlines and serving as major contact for clients.
  • Writes meeting minutes to support project decisions.
  • Leads the design management (directing, coordinating and review/approval) of professional interior design consultant services, including the review of plan/program documents, designs, construction bid documents (drawings, specifications, and estimates and project budgets).
  • Works with contractors to manage schedules and installs of furniture and finishes for moderate to complex projects.
  • Reviews and approves the work of consultant interior design firms and other specialty consultants in the preparation of studies and design/construction documents.
  • Manages furniture purchase orders, installation and final punch list.
  • Leads the relationship with SH furniture vendor partners and design consultants to create and implement SH standards.
  • Leads the team in the development of construction documents (plans and schedules) for construction.
  • Works in both CAD and Revit formats for development of conceptual plans and construction documents.
  • Provides direction on all interior design solutions throughout the system.
  • Oversees interior design teams work and guides all design solutions.
  • Leads design team for selection of finish and furniture scope development for healthcare and workplace environments.
